Trump Confirms to Welcome Chiefs to the White House After Super Bowl Victory

On March 23 (Reuters), U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he would host the Kansas City Chiefs at the White House, following a visit from the Philadelphia Eagles, the NFL Super Bowl champions. During an appearance on the “Outkick the Show” podcast with Clay Travis on Saturday night, Trump expressed his excitement about welcoming the Chiefs after an April 28 ceremony for the Eagles, who defeated the Chiefs 40-22 in New Orleans last month. Trump mentioned that the Chiefs’ visit would make up for their inability to visit in 2020 after their Super Bowl victory, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, he did not specify a date for the new visit.

The Kansas City Chiefs have yet to respond to a request for comment.

The Eagles did not attend a White House visit after their Super Bowl LII win in 2018. Trump, then in his first term, canceled the event after learning that several key players planned to skip the visit.
