Florida State’s coaching staff boasts numerous Nebraska connections following an offseason overhaul by head coach Mike Norvell. From defensive coordinator Tony White to defensive line coach Terrance Knighton and safeties coach Evan Cooper, as well as several off-field staff members and players, the Nebraska influence is strong in Tallahassee.

Now, the Seminoles are targeting a top recruit who is currently committed to Nebraska for their #Tribe26 class.
As reported by On3, four-star cornerback CJ Bronaugh has scheduled an official visit to Florida State from June 13-15. He is also planning visits to Florida, Nebraska, and Penn State. Bronaugh committed to the Cornhuskers in November.
Bronaugh is coming off an impressive junior season where he recorded 30 tackles, three tackles for loss, two sacks, one forced fumble, four pass breakups, and six interceptions, three of which he returned for touchdowns.
The 6-foot-1, 166-pound defensive back is ranked as the No. 72 overall prospect, the No. 7 cornerback, and the No. 8 recruit in Florida for the 2026 class, according to 247Sports.
Florida State currently has eight verbal commitments in its 2026 class, ranked No. 13 nationally. The Seminoles recently secured commitments from four-star safeties Darryl Bell III and Tedarius Hughes.
