Bills Reporter Hints at Potential Trade for Vikings’ Star!
The Minnesota Vikings will soon face a decision regarding Jordan Addison, their 2023 first-round pick, who has thrived as the No. 2 receiver behind Justin Jefferson. Addison will be eligible for a contract extension after this season, but it’s more likely the decision will come in 2027 when he enters the final year of his rookie contract, assuming the Vikings pick up his fifth-year option and he avoids further off-field issues.

A more unexpected scenario, raised by Matt Parrino of Syracuse.com, speculates whether the Vikings could trade Addison as early as this offseason. Parrino mentioned Addison as a potential target for the Buffalo Bills, suggesting that the Vikings might trade him to capitalize on his high value, especially considering his past off-field issues, including a DUI arrest and reckless driving charges. If Addison avoids further legal trouble, it would be the first time since his draft in 2023 that he has remained clean off the field.
If the Vikings were to trade Addison, they could potentially receive a first-round pick, such as the 30th overall pick from the Bills, and use it to draft a replacement like Luther Burden III or Emeka Egbuka. However, given Addison’s talent, youth (he’s only 23), and low-cost rookie contract, it seems unlikely the Vikings would trade him. With 1,786 receiving yards and 20 total touchdowns over two seasons, Addison has proven himself capable of stepping into a No. 1 receiver role if needed, making him a valuable asset for a team in win-now mode.
While Addison’s long-term future with the Vikings may be uncertain, the idea of paying both Jefferson and Addison top-tier receiver money could influence future decisions.
