The Baltimore Ravens are being linked to a potential trade to enhance their running back depth. Although the team already boasts one of the NFL’s top rushing offenses, led by Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson, adding depth to the position is still seen as important.
TWSN writer Marissa Myers suggests a trade that could bring Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III to Baltimore. Currently, Henry is the Ravens’ starting back, coming off a strong season where he rushed for 1,921 yards and 16 touchdowns. However, at 31 years old, Henry is approaching the tail end of his career, and with his free agency coming up in 2025, his future with the team is uncertain.

Myers argues that relying on Henry to maintain his high level of play at his age isn’t sustainable. Walker, who has amassed 2,586 career rushing yards, with 1,852 of those gained after contact, could be a solid replacement. Known for his ability to break tackles and make defenders miss, Walker could learn from Henry in a backup role this season, before taking over as the starting running back in 2026. His skill set could thrive in the Ravens’ offense, especially with a mobile quarterback like Lamar Jackson.
However, like Henry, Walker will also be a free agent after next season. The Ravens would likely need to work out a contract extension with him to make the trade worthwhile. Despite this, it may be more sensible for the Ravens to focus on re-signing Henry, who remains one of the top running backs in the league. Even at 30, he still has a lot to offer, and the Ravens can continue to benefit from his production.
While acquiring Walker could provide valuable depth, the trade may not be necessary for the Ravens at this stage.
