Top In-State Talent Discusses Latest Minnesota Visit

Over the weekend, the Minnesota Golden Gophers rolled out the red carpet again for Eli Diane, a 2027 in-state defensive end phenom from Wayzata. It’s the second time in just a few weeks the local standout has swung by, and the Gophers are clearly tightening their grip on the rising star’s radar.

This week, Minnesota welcomed back elite in-state defensive line talent Eli Diane, a 6-foot-4, 250-pound force from Wayzata High. The Gophers tossed their hat in the ring with an offer in early February—his fifth at the time—joining Kansas State, Iowa, Iowa State, and Colorado State in the chase. Since then, Wisconsin has muscled into the mix. This marked Diane’s second unofficial stop at Minnesota this offseason, hot on the heels of his February visit (the very day the Gophers offered him). Iowa State’s the only other squad he’s checked out so far this offseason.
