East Lansing, MI – Michigan State University has officially extended a scholarship offer to 2027 wide receiver Charles Britton from Belleville High School, adding another high-potential talent to its growing list of future prospects.
Britton, a 6-foot-1, 175-pound standout, has quickly made a name for himself on the recruiting scene with his explosive speed, reliable hands, and advanced route-running ability for his age. Despite being only a sophomore, Britton played a key role in Belleville’s offense last season, showcasing his big-play ability and earning the attention of several Power Five programs.
The offer from Michigan State comes as part of head coach Jonathan Smith’s aggressive recruiting approach aimed at locking down top in-state talent early. Belleville, a perennial powerhouse in Michigan high school football, has produced several Division I athletes in recent years, and Britton appears poised to be the next in line.
“It’s a blessing to receive an offer from Michigan State,” Britton said via social media. “Thank you to Coach Smith and the whole MSU staff for believing in me.” This offer marks one of Britton’s first from a Big Ten school, and it could signal the beginning of a heated recruiting battle as other programs continue to take notice of his upside. While Britton’s recruitment is still in its early stages, Michigan State’s early involvement could prove crucial in building a long-term relationship with one of Michigan’s top 2027 prospects.
