The Baltimore Ravens might be eyeing a trade to bring in a former first-round linebacker. So far, they haven’t made many big offseason moves, especially on defense. With that in mind, it would be wise for them to add a proven veteran, either at linebacker or safety. While Roquan Smith is among the NFL’s elite at his position, the Ravens could benefit from pairing him with another strong presence in the middle of their defense.
Anthony Palacios of Last Word On Sports suggests a potential target:of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Palacios notes that Baltimore’s pass rush struggled last season, despite some flashes of success. The departure of Jadeveon Clowney disrupted the defensive chemistry, and Trenton Simpson hasn’t been an adequate replacement. Although a reunion with Clowney might be considered, it’s unlikely the Panthers would go for it. A more realistic option could be trading a couple of draft picks to Jacksonville for Lloyd, especially since Baltimore is seeking a quick fix.
Adding to the urgency is the loss of Malik Harrison in free agency—to a division rival, no less. According to Palacios, this could be even more reason for the Ravens to pursue Lloyd.
He argues that if Baltimore wants to contend for a title next season, they need to make a move for a capable linebacker who can help Roquan Smith and Kyle Van Noy, and help restore the front seven’s stability. Lloyd, still on his rookie contract, could be a low-risk, high-reward addition.
In 2024, Lloyd started 16 games for Jacksonville, posting 113 tackles and seven tackles for loss—solid production that could make him an ideal complement to Smith in Baltimore’s defense.
