Michigan State Bolsters Roster with Top Transfer Portal Pickup

Michigan State coach Tom Izzo secured his first transfer portal commitment of the offseason with Kaleb Glenn, a 6-foot-7 forward from Florida Atlantic. Glenn’s athleticism, rim-finishing ability, and 41 percent 3-point shooting add size and versatility to the Spartans’ roster.

Last season, Michigan State relied heavily on guards, but roster changes and Glenn’s addition signal a shift toward a bigger lineup. In the Elite Eight, Auburn exploited the Spartans’ lack of size, dominating the paint on both ends. Glenn, with two years of eligibility left, addresses this by providing a reliable scoring option and thriving in Izzo’s fast-paced transition offense.

Glenn pairs well with forward Coen Carr, who earned a starting role by the NCAA Tournament’s end, making the Spartans’ breakaway game more lethal. The frontcourt, including seniors Jaxon Kohler and Carson Cooper—both coming off career-best offensive seasons—offers growth potential. A possible Glenn-Carr-Kohler lineup brings length, athleticism, and underrated floor-spacing ability.

Redshirt center Jesse McCulloch, praised by Izzo for his development, could also see minutes. Incoming 6-foot-7 freshmen Cam Ward and Jordan Scott, both capable of stretching the floor, further deepen the roster. This group gives Izzo flexibility to mix lineups while maintaining size and scoring across positions.
