Michigan State wows 2027 OL Lincoln Mageo.
One of the West Coast’s rising offensive line prospects, Lincoln Mageo, made the cross-country trip to Michigan State this weekend — and he’s leaving with plenty to think about.
The 6-foot-5, 290-pound sophomore out of Oceanside High School (CA) is already on the radar for several Power Five programs, but his visit to East Lansing appears to have struck a different chord.
“Honestly, it was way better than I expected,” Mageo said. “The facilities are top-tier, and the coaches really made me feel like family.”
Mageo spent time with head coach Jonathan Smith and offensive line coach Jim Michalczik, observing practice and getting a taste of the Spartans’ culture. The staff emphasized development, both on and off the field, something Mageo values deeply.
“The energy was real. Coach Michalczik broke down how I’d fit into their system, and it just made sense,” he added.
Though it’s still early in the 2027 recruiting cycle, Mageo’s physicality, footwork, and high football IQ are already drawing national attention. With Michigan State now firmly on his radar, the visit could mark a key turning point in his recruitment.
“I could see myself playing here, for sure,” Mageo said. “It’s a place that feels like home.”
Expect more programs to pursue the Oceanside standout, but for now, the Spartans have made a lasting impression — one that could shape the trajectory of Mageo’s recruitment in a major way.
