Oregon State football picked up its second transfer portal addition of the weekend.
Following the commitment of Georgia State offensive tackle Will Larkins, the Beavers welcomed James Madison cornerback Tyjai Hopper to the team on Sunday.
Hopper, a former three-star recruit from Alpharetta, Georgia, spent two seasons at James Madison, including a redshirt year. He saw limited playing time there and will now look for more opportunities with the Beavers in the future.
At 6-1, 192 pounds, Hopper brings added size and length to Oregon State’s cornerback group. The Beavers’ defensive backfield was a key factor in a dominant performance during Saturday’s spring game, which saw the defense allow just one offensive touchdown.
Thanks to the transfer portal, Hopper can join the OSU football program immediately and will be eligible to play in the fall.
