University of Minnesota men’s basketball coach Niko Medved has added Nehemiah Turner from Auburndale, Florida, to the 2025-26 roster. Turner, previously a freshman at Central Arkansas, joins the Gophers with high praise from Medved, who highlighted Turner’s size, strength, skill, and exceptional finishing ability, noting his strong presence in the paint and significant potential.
Standing at 6-foot-10, the forward played in all 33 games during his freshman year, starting several games late in the season. Averaging 18.1 minutes, Turner scored 8.5 points and grabbed 4.2 rebounds per game, with a notable increase to 17 points per game in the final two months.
In his last 10 games, he averaged 18.5 points, reaching double figures each time. During the ASUN Championship’s opening round, Turner led Central Arkansas to a 77-72 victory over Stetson, posting a career-high 37 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, three steals, and two blocks—setting a team record for points and field goals made in a single game that season. He recorded double-digit points in 12 games and double-digit rebounds in three.
Before college, Turner played at Williston Northampton, earning All-WNEP and All-NEPSAC honors after transferring from Auburndale High School, where he averaged 13 points and nine rebounds and was a two-time All-District selection.
