An in-depth article featuring analysis on each of the Broncos’ newly signed college free agents from senior draft analyst Erick Trickel is on the way. In the meantime, it’s clear that Denver targeted depth across several key positions in undrafted free agency — notably offensive line, linebacker, cornerback, wide receiver, and defensive line.
The Broncos used their third-round pick on Illinois wide receiver Pat Bryant and took Texas cornerback Jahdae Barron in the first round. Alabama’s Que Robinson, selected as a linebacker, is currently projected to play more on the edge. Notably, the team didn’t sign any undrafted running backs — possibly a sign of confidence in their backfield after drafting UCF’s RJ Harvey in Round 2.
Denver also bypassed drafting any offensive linemen and took just one tight end — Utah’s Caleb Lohner in the seventh round. However, they did add four offensive linemen among their 15 undrafted free agent signings.
While the schedule for the Broncos’ rookie minicamp hasn’t been announced yet, it’s expected to take place in the next few weeks, offering the first real look at both the drafted rookies and this year’s undrafted additions.
