Steelers Add AFC South Veteran in Bold Post-Draft Move

The Pittsburgh Steelers are bringing in an experienced veteran to strengthen their wide receiver group.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the team has agreed to a one-year contract with Robert Woods valued at $2 million.

The Pittsburgh Steelers needed additional depth at wide receiver behind DK Metcalf and George Pickens but chose not to draft a receiver in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Now, Robert Woods should help fill that gap at an affordable price. Last season, he played for the Houston Texans, recording 20 catches for 203 yards over 15 games.

While Woods spent 2023 with the Texans, he’s best known for his time with the Los Angeles Rams. From 2017 to 2021, the USC alum and California native totaled 367 receptions, 4,626 yards, and 23 touchdowns in 68 games, playing a key role in the Rams’ Super Bowl LVI win over the Cincinnati Bengals in his final year with the team.

Woods began his career with the Buffalo Bills, who drafted him in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He also had a short stint with the Tennessee Titans in 2022, where he accumulated 527 yards and two touchdowns on 53 catches.
