Jackie Bradley Jr., who won the 2018 World Series with the Boston Red Sox and is known for his exceptional defense, joined the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball in April. Following his last major league appearance with the Kansas City Royals in 2023, he opted to continue his career by signing with a partner league. During his stint with the Ducks, Bradley made history by setting a hitting streak record. Recently, Michael Pfaff, president and chief baseball officer of the Long Island Ducks, announced Bradley’s return to MLB, revealing that he has signed with the New York Mets. The Ducks clarified on Twitter that he will initially join their Triple-A affiliate, the Syracuse Mets.
Bradley’s hitting streak with the Ducks lasted 28 days, just three games short of the Atlantic League record, during which he maintained impressive batting statistics with a .471 average and a .537 on-base percentage.
