Kaoru Mitoma is expected to be absent from the upcoming match against Nottingham Forest, contributing to Brighton’s selection challenges. The team is grappling with a selection crisis as several key players are likely to miss the game at the City Ground on Saturday. Notable absentees may include Pervis Estupinan, Solly March, Danny Welbeck, James Milner, and Mo Dahoud.
In addition to Mitoma, striker Evan Ferguson is uncertain for the match due to an injury sustained in the Republic of Ireland’s Euro 2024 qualifier defeat to the Netherlands. Another concern is the potential absence of defender Lewis Dunk, who withdrew from the England squad. Despite Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi expressing hope during the international break for the return of several key players to training, it appears that the team’s options will be limited.
De Zerbi mentioned, “I don’t know the time, but I hope to find out the time for the injured players – Tariq Lamptey, Estupinan, and Lewis Dunk – after the break. When we start training, I hope and believe we can see them on the pitch.”
Brighton currently holds the eighth position in the Premier League table but is facing a winless streak in their last six league matches. Nottingham Forest, on the other hand, aims to recover from their recent 3-2 defeat against West Ham as they prepare to face Brighton at Trentside this weekend.
