Kessler, 26, has spent all five of his professional seasons with New England. Over 98 appearances, he has scored 4 goals and provided no assists. He played a crucial role in the Revs’ record-breaking, Supporters’ Shield-winning team in 2021.
Kessler, who has earned two caps with the USMNT, will join St. Louis center backs Kyle Hiebert, Joakim Nilsson, and Joshua Yaro. New signings Jake Girdwood-Reich and Jannes Horn are also capable of playing as center backs.
“Henry is a talented center back with national team experience since being drafted in 2020,” said St. Louis sporting director Lutz Pfannenstiel in a statement. “He is a tenacious defender and his ball vision will be a valuable asset to our defense.”
