The Golden State Warriors front office faced increased pressure to assemble a championship-caliber roster following the Olympics. Stephen Curry demonstrated he remains among the elite players in the world by scoring a total of 60 points in the final two Olympic games.
After finishing 10th in the Western Conference and being eliminated in the Play-In Tournament, the Warriors made only marginal improvements in the offseason. They lost Klay Thompson but added valuable players like Buddy Hield, De’Anthony Melton, and Kyle Anderson. While these additions are solid, the team still lacks star power.
Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report suggested a trade to help the Warriors acquire another All-Star caliber player. Swartz proposed a three-team deal involving the Warriors, Milwaukee Bucks, and Portland Trail Blazers:
– Warriors would receive: Khris Middleton
– Bucks would receive: Jerami Grant
– Trail Blazers would receive: Andrew Wiggins, Moses Moody
“Khris Middleton is a more well-rounded player than Jerami Grant, but he has struggled with injuries recently and underwent arthroscopic surgeries on both ankles this offseason,” Swartz noted on August 12. “If the Bucks have concerns about Middleton’s health, trading him for Grant, who is two years younger, could be a sensible move.”
Swartz added, “For the Warriors, this trade effectively replaces Andrew Wiggins with Middleton, while Moses Moody may see limited playing time this season with the addition of Hield and Melton and Brandin Podziemski stepping into the starting lineup.”
