BREAKING NEWS: Ohio State 4-star recruit lands multi-million dollar NIL deal with Georgia Tech

COLUMBUS, Ohio State — On Monday, Georgia Tech outpaced Ohio State in securing the commitment of four-star offensive lineman Josh Petty. A report that emerged on Wednesday revealed the details of Petty’s financial arrangement with the Yellow Jackets.

Georgia Tech and Petty have agreed to a three-year “Roster Value” contract worth a minimum of $800,000 annually, according to On3. A source from Florida State, which was also in the running for Petty, indicated that his recruitment did not escalate into a bidding war.

James Petty, Josh’s father, shared with On3 that part of the appeal for his son was the combination of educational opportunities and NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) potential.

“My son, along with other athletes, has the chance to build a financial foundation that will help them transition into life and tackle some affordability issues,” said James Petty.
