Orlando Magic rising star Paolo Banchero is optimistic about his ability to lead his team to a stronger finish in the 2024-25 NBA season, aiming to surpass several teams in the Eastern Conference, including the New York Knicks.
In the 2023-24 season, Banchero played a pivotal role in transforming the Magic from a struggling team into a competitive one, guiding them to a 47-35 record with a 13-win improvement. He averaged 22.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game, shooting 45.5 percent from the field, which earned him his first All-Star selection and secured the Magic’s first playoff appearance since the 2019-20 season.
With just one year under his belt, Banchero has already made a significant impact, and he expects his career to continue on an upward trajectory. To achieve this, the Magic will need to surpass the top four teams from the previous season: the Boston Celtics (No. 1), the New York Knicks (No. 2), the Milwaukee Bucks (No. 3), and the Cleveland Cavaliers (No. 4).
