Breaking: Marquis Maze takes shot at Alabama players that transferred to Florida State

Week Zero of college football brought us the first upset of the 12-team College Football Playoff era.

Florida State University, which entered the season with high expectations and a No. 10 preseason ranking, fell to Georgia Tech on Saturday in an Atlantic Coast Conference showdown in Ireland.

Brent Key, a former assistant coach under Nick Saban at Alabama, secured a 24-21 win over a top-10 team as the head coach of the Yellow Jackets. After Saban’s retirement, a few players left Alabama for Florida State through the NCAA transfer portal, including Roydell Williams, Malik Benson, Earl Little II, Terrence Ferguson, and Shawn Murphy.

Marquis Maze, a former Alabama wide receiver, expressed his disapproval of the players who transferred. He criticized the five individuals who chose Florida State over Alabama in a social media post.

Maze played for Alabama from 2008 to 2011, winning two BCS National Championships in 2009 and 2011.
