Sad news for dolphins RB

On Black Friday, the Miami Dolphins’ high-scoring lineup will be missing one key element as rookie running back De’Von Achane is unlikely to participate against the New York Jets due to a lingering knee injury, according to information from NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero on Good Morning Football. Despite recently returning from an injured reserve stint to contribute to a Week 11 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, Achane exacerbated his knee issue during the game. Given his questionable status leading up to Friday’s matchup, he is anticipated to be sidelined.

Throughout the season, Achane’s knee injury has been a notable setback. He made a significant impact with a four-touchdown performance on September 24, accumulating 233 scrimmage yards in a decisive 70-20 triumph over the Denver Broncos.

Dolphins RB De'Von Achane (knee) not expected to play vs. Jets for Black Friday game

Across five appearances this season, he has averaged 92.2 yards per game, amassing 461 rushing yards and five ground touchdowns, accompanied by two additional scores through the air. Unfortunately, his knee problem kept him out of action from Weeks 6 to 9. Even upon his return against the Raiders, he managed just one carry for 1 yard before being hampered by the recurring injury.

Despite Achane’s absence, the Dolphins still boast a formidable backfield with leading rusher Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson, and the promoted Darrynton Evans. The Dolphins are scheduled to face the New York Jets at 3 p.m. ET in what marks the NFL’s inaugural Black Friday game.
