LSU Star Gets Penalized

LSU Star Gets Penalized After scoring the LSU Tigers’ first touchdown against the USC Trojans on Sunday evening, wide receiver Kyren Lacy took his celebration too far. Lacy made a spectacular catch from quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, getting his foot in bounds for the game’s initial score. However, his celebration crossed the line when he approached a USC defender and made a gesture as if holding a gun to his head.

The gesture led to an immediate penalty, with officials flagging Lacy for his inappropriate celebration.

This type of explicit behavior has no place in college football, as noted by Rece Davis and Kirk Herbstreit, who emphasized that referees must enforce such rules strictly.

The penalty had a significant impact on LSU, as they were pushed back 15 yards on the kickoff. This allowed USC’s dangerous returner, Zachariah Branch, to make a strong return into LSU territory.

USC capitalized on the opportunity by adding a field goal and regaining the lead. This incident serves as a reminder that poor decisions in celebrations can cost your team.
