Sad News: Arizona State Sun Devils’ Star Player Reportedly Out of Mississippi State Clash Due to Latest Unexpected Injury

With increased depth and talent across its roster, Arizona State might not use many true freshmen in highly competitive games. In fact, only one non-specialist, cornerback Rodney Bimage Jr., was listed on the team’s two-deep roster to start the season.

However, during a 48-7 blowout win over Wyoming, several talented first-year players saw significant action late in the second half.

While five true freshmen played against Wyoming, one stands out as a potential regular contributor throughout the season. Punter Kanyon Floyd was ASU’s only true freshman starter in the dominant win over the Cowboys, although he was only needed to punt twice due to the team’s strong overall performance.

A player can participate in up to four games and still retain redshirt status, a rule head coach Kenny Dillingham utilized last season to develop younger players during ASU’s self-imposed one-year postseason ban.
