Desperate for Change: Florida State Fans Rally Behind Deion Sanders After Nightmare Season Start

Florida State football fans are eager for a coaching shakeup following the team’s 0-2 start to the 2024 season. Some are even calling for the return of a coach who finished 4-8 and narrowly avoided an upset by an FCS team last week, hoping he can bring the program back to its former glory from the Jimbo Fisher era.

Florida State football is off to a slow start

FSU suffered a stunning loss at home to Boston College, just a week after Georgia Tech upset the Seminoles in Ireland. On Monday night, head coach Mike Norvell acknowledged the rough start, calling it a failure, but emphasized that the team still has a lot to play for this season.

Norvell himself has plenty at stake. The Seminoles performed well last season under quarterback Jordan Travis, but without him, the offense has struggled. Transfer quarterback DJ Uiagalelei has underwhelmed in the first two games.

The defense hasn’t fared much better, and much of the blame falls on the coaching staff for failing to have the team adequately prepared.

FSU fans call for Deion Sanders to return to Tallahassee

Deion Sanders, a legendary FSU football player, has some fans pushing for his return as head coach before the 2025 season. While Sanders hasn’t secured many big wins at Colorado, many believe he’d have a better shot at a national title with the greater resources available at FSU. At the very least, his staff wouldn’t need to travel to places like Saudi Arabia to chase NIL funding.
