Isaiah Rodgers, a cornerback for the Philadelphia Eagles who faced a suspension last season due to a breach of the NFL’s gambling policy, has been reinstated as of Tuesday.
The NFL announced that Rodgers, 26, is now eligible to join team activities immediately.
Rodgers was signed by the Eagles in August 2023, following his release from the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts parted ways with him shortly after his indefinite suspension, which also affected two other Colts players, for betting on NFL games during the previous season.
Since the start of the 2022 season, at least 12 players have been suspended for gambling. This includes Calvin Ridley, who received a season-long ban and was reinstated in March to play for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Last April, five players faced suspensions for gambling violations, with four coming from the Detroit Lions.
Rodgers, who is in his fourth year and was drafted in the sixth round out of UMass, has appeared in 45 games with 10 starts over his career. He recorded three interceptions, all in the 2021 season.
