BREAKING NEWS: Indiana Fever Top Star Ruled Out Of Squad Amid Severe Injury

After their victory over the Dallas Wings on Sunday, the Indiana Fever enjoyed a two-day break before their matchup against the Los Angeles Sparks on Wednesday (Sept. 4).

The Fever had been free of injury concerns for their previous two games, with all players available. However, that changed on Tuesday.

IndyStar Sports writer Chloe Peterson reported that forward Temi Fagbenie was listed as questionable for the game against Los Angeles due to a right shoulder injury. Fagbenle has faced multiple health issues throughout the 2024 WNBA season, starting with a foot injury on May 28 that kept her out for a month. She returned on June 27 to face the Seattle Storm, but after three games, she sustained a thumb injury that led to more missed time.

Fagbenle missed the rest of July and two games in August following the Olympic break. She returned for the Fever’s loss to the Minnesota Lynx and has played in five games since then.

Overall, Fagbenle has been sidelined for 16 games this season. Despite this, she has made a significant impact off the bench when available, averaging 19.3 minutes per game with 6.5 points, 5 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks per game.

Although we won’t know for certain whether she will play against the Sparks until the game day, it’s frustrating for Fagbenle to be on the injury report once more. Hopefully, this issue will be resolved quickly.
