The Seattle Seahawks are off to an excellent start in the 2024 NFL season, leading the NFC West with a 2-0 record after strong victories over Denver and New England. The team feels like its offense is just starting to hit its stride.
Wide receiver DK Metcalf issued a serious warning to future opponents during a media session on Wednesday.
“I don’t think it’s good; it’s bad news for defenses that have to face us going forward,” Metcalf said, according to Michael-Shawn Dugar. “We’ve got Lock, myself, Jax, and you haven’t even seen Noah yet. You saw Ken in Week 1, but Zach Charbonnet is still ready to break out. It’s just a matter of time before our offensive stars really hit their stride.”
Metcalf emphasized the depth of Seattle’s offense, highlighting Jaxon Smith-Njigba (JSN), who is showing his potential as a top NFL receiver. JSN had a standout game against the Patriots, with 12 receptions for 117 yards.
Seattle selected Smith-Njigba in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. After an impressive college career at Ohio State, he had a solid rookie season but wasn’t featured heavily in the offense—a situation that appears to be shifting under offensive coordinator Mike Macdonald.
However, the Seahawks might be missing key players in Week 3, as Kenneth Walker III is expected to sit out again, putting added pressure on Zach Charbonnet to step up.
Seattle will face a struggling Miami team in Week 3, a matchup that looks promising for the Seahawks.
