Here’s the current situation: Reddick was traded by the Eagles to the Jets in March for a 2026 third-round pick, a move he pushed for after realizing the Eagles weren’t going to offer him the raise he felt he deserved. Reddick still has over $20 million left on the $45 million contract he signed in 2022.
He’s coming off two Pro Bowl seasons and has recorded at least 11 sacks in each of the last four years. However, the Jets have shown no interest in increasing Reddick’s salary either, leading to a contract holdout.
As we head into Week 4, Reddick remains sidelined. ESPN’s Jets beat reporter, Rich Cimini, has heard some intriguing rumors. Reddick’s holdout has sparked widespread trade speculation (he requested another trade in August), and according to Cimini, in an especially bizarre twist, the Jets might even consider trading Reddick back to the Eagles.
