Bears Top Star Ruled Out Of Season As He Suffers severe Upper Body Injury
Jenkins left the game in the second quarter during Sunday’s 24-18 victory over the Rams and went directly to the locker room.
“We’ll assess his healing tomorrow and into Wednesday, and then we’ll make a decision based on that,” Eberflus noted.
Jenkins was replaced by Matt Pryor, who switched from right guard to left guard. Nate Davis, who was previously benched for Pryor, came in to play right guard.
The Bears’ offensive line has struggled with consistency this season, but showed improvement in the run game on Sunday, averaging 4.7 yards per carry—their best performance yet. Before the game, running back D’Andre Swift ranked last among regular NFL running backs in yards per carry.
According to Pro Football Focus, Jenkins is the 38th-best guard in the NFL this season, the highest ranking among Bears guards. He is in the final year of his rookie contract.
