Alabama football has seen several players on its defensive front shine after four games, including Tim Keenan III, Que Robinson, LT Overton, James Smith, and Qua Russaw.
Jeheim Oatis, a junior and veteran on the line, hasn’t been as visible this season. The 6-foot-5, 325-pound player underwent a remarkable transformation to secure a starting role as a freshman and made plays in his second season. However, this year, the Mississippi native has recorded only two tackles over four games, raising concerns among fans.
Defensive coordinator Kane Wommack addressed reporters on Monday about Oatis’s progress.
“Jehiem is still finding his stride after coming off an injury in the offseason,” Wommack said. “He’s making progress, and while we want to see him continue improving, I believe he has significant potential to make a big impact on this team.”
Oatis dealt with injuries last season but is now fully healthy. After being named to the Freshman All-SEC team in 2022 and showing growth as a sophomore, he has the talent to influence games. Fans hope he can regain his rhythm on defense soon.
