In his postgame press conference, the coach mentioned that Hall was “close” to playing, suggesting that the decision was made as a precaution to preserve his health for the remainder of the season. He also clarified that Hall’s injury isn’t expected to be long-term.

I was really hoping to see Hall play on Friday, but considering the bigger picture, sitting him was likely the right move, as his presence might not have changed the game’s outcome. Still, with a talent like Hall, it’s important to avoid missing time, and thankfully it seems he’ll be ready for homecoming against Iowa.
While bye weeks aren’t the most exciting for fans, this one comes at a strategic time in the season, allowing Michigan State to give players some much-needed rest. Specifically for Hall, it’s clear he should be back for the next game, especially with this additional week to recover.
Given how close he was to returning against Oregon, he would likely be fully ready if there had been a game this weekend. The extra time off makes me confident that he’ll be back for the Iowa matchup, barring any new injuries.
