Packers GM Gives Immense Report on Dissatisfied Top Starting WR`s Future

The Green Bay Packers and wide receiver Romeo Doubs had a significant disagreement last week, but it seems they have reached an understanding.

Packers suspend wide receiver Romeo Doubs for Sunday's game

Doubs was unhappy with his role in the offense and missed several practices leading up to the Week 5 game against the Los Angeles Rams. In response, the Packers suspended him for that matchup. And Packers GM Gives Immense Report on Dissatisfied Top Starting WR`s Future

However, general manager Brian Gutekunst and head coach Matt LaFleur have recently stated that they plan to keep Doubs and expect his return. On October 7, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that Doubs intends to attend practice on Wednesday following a positive meeting with the team.

Currently, Jayden Reed, the Packers’ top slot receiver, leads the team with 414 receiving yards, having made 21 catches on 28 targets with 2 touchdowns. Doubs is ranked third in overall production behind tight end Tucker Kraft, who has 88 yards and 2 touchdowns from Sunday’s game. In his four games, Doubs has recorded 12 catches on 20 targets for 169 yards with no touchdowns. Had he played in the previous game and maintained his averages, he would have 15 catches for 211 yards by now.

Doubs’ limited opportunities in the red zone can be attributed in part to the depth of the Packers’ receiving corps. For instance, Dontayvion Wicks has 29 targets but only 10 catches, with 3 resulting in touchdowns.

Additionally, the absence of quarterback Jordan Love in Weeks 2 and 3 significantly reduced the number of passing chances, as backup Malik Willis started in his place.
