JUST IN: Game-Changer Trade Star QB Joins Dolphins Amid Quarterback Crisis

Tua Tagovailoa was placed on injured reserve due to his third concussion in Week 2, the team’s offense has struggled significantly.

The Miami Dolphins may need to seek a new quarterback to salvage their 2024 NFL season. After Backup Skylar Thompson briefly stepped in but soon faced his own injury, leading to Tyler Huntley taking over. Unfortunately, both Thompson and Huntley have underperformed, with neither managing to throw a touchdown in their last three games.

However, according to former Minnesota Vikings GM Jeff Diamond, the Dolphins might find the perfect quarterback available soon.

Diamond points to Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson, who signed a one-year, $1.2 million contract in the offseason. After a calf injury during training camp cost him his starting role to Justin Fields, Wilson could be on the trading block.

Given Pittsburgh’s minimal investment, Diamond suggests the Dolphins could make a move for him.

“If the Steelers can secure a later-round pick for a player they invested so little in, I think they’ll jump at it,” Diamond noted. He believes Miami is a likely landing spot, especially with Tagovailoa’s uncertain status, and that Wilson would be a clear upgrade over Huntley or Thompson.

Wilson, a former standout with the Seattle Seahawks from 2012 to 2021, boasts nine Pro Bowl selections and an All-Pro nod. Despite a disappointing first season with the Denver Broncos in 2022, he showed he could still lead a team in 2023, throwing for 3,070 yards, 26 touchdowns, and just eight interceptions over 15 games. With Fields now at the helm, the Steelers started strong with a 3-0 record but have since lost two straight, dropping to 3-2. If Wilson can regain his earlier form, he could soon find himself leaving Pennsylvania for Miami.
