Packers Seize Opportunity As Rookie Scoop After Vikings Cut
On Tuesday, the Green Bay Packers made a significant move by releasing rookie kicker Brayden Narveson and signing veteran Brandon McManus. But that wasn’t all they did as they prepared for their Week 7 matchup against the Houston Texans.
The Packers also revealed that they added former Minnesota Vikings offensive lineman Spencer Rolland to their practice squad. Rolland went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft but later joined the Vikings as an undrafted free agent in May.

Rolland spent training camp with the Vikings before being released just before the 53-man roster cut deadline.
According to Zach Kruse from the Packers Wire, Rolland played 60 snaps at left guard during the preseason, allowing only one pressure and committing two penalties.
Standing at 6-foot-6, Rolland began his college career at Harvard (2018-21) before transferring to the University of North Carolina for his final two years.
In 2021, he earned first-team All-Ivy honors and received All-ACC honorable mention in 2023, starting in 43 games throughout his college career.
He joins Donovan Jennings as the only offensive linemen on the Packers’ practice squad, following the loss of Lecitus Smith, who was signed to the New England Patriots‘ 53-man roster on Tuesday.
