The Seattle Seahawks made an early move in the trade market by acquiring defensive tackle Roy Robertson-Harris from the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday.

New Seahawks DL Roy Robertson-Harris is excited to make an impact.

With several injuries and some players not meeting expectations, the Seahawks may continue to pursue roster improvements before the NFL trade deadline on November 5. The struggling Jaguars could be involved again.

Former NFL scout and host of the NFL Network’s Move The Sticks podcast, Daniel Jeremiah, suggested Jacksonville linebacker Devin Lloyd as a potential trade target for Seattle during his weekly chat with Brock and Salk on Seattle Sports.

On Thursday, FOX football analyst and former NFL quarterback Brock Huard commented on a possible trade for Lloyd during the daily Blue 88 segment.

“When Jeremiah says it’s never been harder to play the position, you know what you need? Size, speed, length, and versatility,” Huard stated. “Lloyd fits all those criteria.”

Fans in the Pacific Northwest might recall Lloyd from his standout career at Utah in the Pac-12, where he was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year and a first-team All-American in 2021. He was also a two-time finalist for the Dick Butkus Award, recognizing the nation’s top linebacker.

In his impressive college career, Lloyd accumulated 45 tackles for loss, 16.5 sacks, 13 passes defended, and five interceptions, including three pick-sixes.

The Jaguars selected Lloyd with the 27th overall pick in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

In his first two seasons, Lloyd recorded over 100 total tackles each year and showcased his playmaking skills as a rookie with three interceptions, although he faced challenges adjusting to the NFL.

Pro Football Focus recognized the Kansas City, Missouri, native as Jacksonville’s most improved player last season. Notably for the Seahawks, he ranked as the league’s third-best inside linebacker against the run last year and is currently ninth this season.

“As far as pure talent goes, he has it all,” Huard said. “He excelled at Utah and possesses the physical attributes and skill set to match. He’d definitely be someone to consider as Jacksonville’s season continues to decline.”
