Bills HC Provides Huge Report on Top Starter`s Future

Amari Cooper arrived in Buffalo late on Tuesday after a nearly three-hour drive from Cleveland, but he may be prepared to play in the team’s upcoming game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

Cooper was traded from the Cleveland Browns to the Buffalo Bills, joining the team just days after their Monday Night Football victory over the New York Jets. Despite having only four full days with the team before the game, Fox Sports insider Jordan Schultz reported on Friday that the Bills anticipate he will be ready to play this weekend.

Bills HC Provides Huge Report on Top Starter`s Future

“Sources: #Bills WR Amari Cooper is anticipated to play on Sunday against the #Titans,” Schultz posted on X. “Head Coach Sean McDermott mentioned that no decision had been finalized, but I’m told Cooper intends to make his Buffalo debut at home in front of Bills’ Mafia.”

Amari Cooper’s Role Unclear

While Amari Cooper is expected to play a significant role in the Bills’ offense eventually, it’s uncertain how much he’ll be utilized in Sunday’s game against the Titans. Nick Wojton of USA Today’s Bills Wire indicated that the team might have limited plans for him.

Bills' Amari Cooper shares 'realistic' take about early expectation with Buffalo

“Cooper could start his Bills career in a limited capacity, but just being on the field for a specific set of plays will add a dynamic to Buffalo’s offense that they’ve lacked in 2024,” Wojton wrote.

Cooper has had a slower start this season compared to last, when he recorded 72 catches for 1,250 yards and five touchdowns. So far this year, he has 24 catches for 250 yards and two touchdowns through the first six games.

CBS analyst Tiki Barber believes Cooper will eventually be a valuable asset to Buffalo’s offense.

“He will have an impact,” Barber said. “I’m not sure how significant it will be early on, given Josh Allen and the different system they’re likely implementing. But a player who creates separation like he does, and who is a smart, seasoned veteran, will definitely make a difference. The key question is how big of an impact it will be.

“I think Amari Cooper can help because he’s an excellent route runner. He may not be the fastest anymore, but he knows how to subtly create separation, which is crucial for any offense.”

Keon Coleman’s Colorful Take on Amari Cooper

One member of the Bills’ offense is particularly enthusiastic about Amari Cooper joining the team. Rookie receiver Keon Coleman expressed this week that adding the Pro Bowl receiver feels like welcoming another breadwinner into a household.

“It’s like bringing in someone who can contribute more financially,” Coleman told Spectrum’s Andy Young. “It helps with everything, opens up opportunities, and adds more threats to the offense.”

Coleman also shared his excitement about the opportunity to learn from Cooper, a seasoned NFL veteran with a decade of experience.

“I mean, it’s Amari Cooper,” Coleman said, according to WKBW’s Matt Bove. “He’s a great receiver who has produced in the league for a long time. I’m looking forward to learning from him and watching him work every day.”
