Michigan’s Game Changer: What Five-Star OT Andrew Babalola Brings to a New Era Under Coach Sherrone Moore
As Michigan gears up for the 2024 season, the program is undergoing significant changes following Jim Harbaugh’s departure to the NFL, where he will coach the Los Angeles Chargers after considering professional opportunities over the past three offseasons.
Stepping in as head coach is offensive line coach and offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore, who took the reins during Harbaugh’s four-game suspension this past season, leading the team to victories over Penn State and Ohio State.
Moore has been busy this February assembling his coaching staff, aiming to build on the momentum from three consecutive Big Ten Championships and a National Championship.
“I have prepared my entire coaching career for this opportunity, and I can’t imagine a better place to be head coach than the University of Michigan,” Moore stated at his introductory press conference. “Every day, we will work as a TEAM to uphold the legacy of championship football that Michigan has had for the past 144 years. Our standards remain high. We will be a smart, tough, dependable, relentless, and enthusiastic team that plays with passion for the game, the winged helmet, and for each other. We will also strive for excellence off the field, in the classroom, and in our communities. I’m eager to begin this new chapter with our players, coaches, and staff.”
The Wolverines will face a challenging schedule in 2024, hosting Texas, Oregon, and USC, while also traveling to play Washington and Ohio State, among others.
