Clemson Tigers Star Recruit Shuts Down Decommitment Buzz. The Clemson Tigers are keen to solidify their defensive line for the 2025 season with their standout five-star recruit, Amare Adams, who is fully committed to wearing the orange and purple.
Despite the swirling rumors, Adams remains steadfast in his loyalty to Clemson. “Teams are trying to get at me, but I’m not responding because I’m loyal to the Tigers. I just want to be a Clemson Tiger,” he told the Clemson Insider.
Adams, the top recruit in South Carolina and a standout at South Florence High School, is a crucial piece of a small recruiting class that currently includes 13 commits. He ranks as the No. 4 defensive lineman and No. 21 recruit nationwide, according to 247Sports.
Recent decommitments, including quarterback Blake Hebert’s switch to Notre Dame, have raised concerns for the Tigers, who currently lack a quarterback in the class. However, Adams is focused on his senior season, tuning out the distractions. “I just ignore what they say. They try to make up stuff to throw me off, but I’m just concentrating on finishing strong,” he said.
Clemson’s Class of 2025 includes other promising recruits, such as offensive tackle Brayden Jacobs and safety Tae Harris, among others. Additionally, the Tigers are already looking ahead to 2026, with three early commitments in place.
