Key Players Ruled Out for Titans Clash
There’s clarity regarding which injured New York Jets players will miss Thursday’s game against the Houston Texans, with six already ruled out. All of these players were absent from practice this week, and interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich indicated that some might be considered for injured reserve.
None of the six participated in Sunday’s game against New England. The injured players include safety Tony Adams (hamstring), safety Ashtyn Davis (concussion), defensive lineman Leki Fotu (knee), wide receiver Allen Lazard (chest), guard Alijah Vera-Tucker (ankle), and linebacker C.J. Mosley (neck). Interestingly, Mosley was the only one not on last week’s injury report; he suffered an injury before the game and did not play.
The Jets might decide to place any of these players on injured reserve before Thursday’s matchup, which would free up a roster spot. Recently, they did something similar with kicker Greg Zuerlein, who was listed on the injury report Tuesday due to a knee issue in his non-kicking leg.
In other roster moves, the Jets signed linebacker Marcelino McCrary-Ball to the active roster and released safety Jaylen Key from the practice squad.
Additionally, New York is awaiting updates on the status of three questionable players: linebacker Chazz Surratt (heel), offensive lineman Morgan Moses (knee), and tight end Kenny Yeboah (abdomen). Surratt and Moses played on Sunday, while Yeboah is nearing the end of his two-week practice window after spending much of the season on IR. Both Surratt and Moses have been limited in practice, whereas Yeboah has fully participated.
The injury report also includes players without designations who are expected to be available, such as cornerback Michael Carter II (back) and quarterback Aaron Rodgers (knee/hamstring).
On the Texans’ side, wide receiver Stefon Diggs is out for the remainder of the season due to an ACL injury. They have ruled out four players for Thursday: safety Jimmie Ward (groin), center Jarrett Patterson (concussion), running back Dameon Pierce (groin), and linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair (knee). However, safety Calen Bullock, cornerback Kamari Lassiter, and linebacker Henry To’oTo’o are expected to be available.
