Multiple sources indicate that Baltimore will send a fifth-round draft pick in 2025 to Carolina in exchange for the Panthers’ sixth-round pick next year. Additionally, Carolina will absorb part of Johnson’s contract, leaving the Ravens responsible for approximately $625,000 for the remainder of the season, according to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic.

As reported by multiple sources, Baltimore will send a fifth-round pick in 2025 to Carolina in exchange for the Panthers’ sixth-round pick next year. Carolina will cover part of Johnson’s contract, leaving Baltimore responsible for about $625,000 for the remainder of the season, according to Jeff Zrebiec from The Athletic.
Johnson will add depth to a receiving corps that features Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman, and Nelson Agholor, all part of an offense led by Lamar Jackson. He also has experience as a returner, potentially contributing to special teams.
The Ravens currently lead the league in total offense and rushing, with their passing game ranking fifth overall. Adding Johnson to an already talented lineup that includes playmakers like tight ends Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely, as well as running backs Derrick Henry and Justice Hill, enhances their offensive capabilities for the remainder of the season.
Johnson, who will be a free agent after this year, recorded 30 receptions for 357 yards and three touchdowns in seven games with the Panthers.
Johnson experienced significantly higher production with Andy Dalton as the quarterback compared to Bryce Young and will now be catching passes from Lamar Jackson. In Week 3, he recorded eight receptions for 122 yards and a touchdown against the Raiders, followed by seven catches for 83 yards and another touchdown the following week against the Bengals.
Johnson played his first five seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, amassing 391 receptions for 4,363 yards and 25 touchdowns. His standout season came in 2021, when he recorded 107 catches for 1,161 yards and eight touchdowns at the age of 28.
