On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported the news via social media that Dorian Barney has reopened his recruitment. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound cornerback, who is ranked as the No. 11 player in Georgia for the 2026 class, currently holds offers from over 40 Division I programs. He recently visited Texas A&M for their dominant win over LSU in Week 9.

At this point, Alabama’s 2026 recruiting class has only one other commitment—defensive lineman Vodney Cleveland. Although Barney has not yet announced his next move, there are strong indications that he may be leaning toward Texas A&M. After his visit, he told Chad Simmons of On3, “Texas A&M is very high on my list and I think they will stay there too.”

The Aggies have been on a strong recruiting run recently, securing four commitments for the 2026 class in the past two weeks. With the early signing period less than a month away, Alabama currently holds the No. 1 recruiting class for 2025.
