Falcons QB Top Target Surprises with Sudden Spot On Injury Report!
As the Atlanta Falcons get ready to face the Denver Broncos in Week 11, Kirk Cousins may be without one of his key playmakers, Darnell Mooney. Although Mooney was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice, he appeared on the Falcons’ injury report Thursday with an Achilles injury, adding concern to the offense heading into the matchup.
The Falcons receiving corps took a blow in Week 9 when Drake London suffered a hip injury, forcing him to miss most of the game against the Cowboys. However, London bounced back the following week, returning to form and regaining his usual productivity.
This week, the Falcons may have to face the Denver Broncos without Darnell Mooney, who’s emerged as a key weapon for Kirk Cousins after a quiet start following his offseason free-agent move to Atlanta.
In a dynamic offensive group that includes Drake London, Mooney, Kyle Pitts, and Bijan Robinson, the Falcons have quickly climbed the ranks as one of the NFL‘s top passing attacks. Through 10 games, Atlanta averages 250.4 passing yards per game, ranking fifth overall in the league.
Out of the Falcons’ 2,504 passing yards and 17 touchdowns, Mooney has accounted for 684 yards and five touchdowns. Without him, Atlanta’s passing game would likely drop toward the bottom half of the league.
Given Mooney’s crucial role in this offense, the Falcons could be in for a tough battle against Denver’s tough defense if he’s unable to suit up for Week 11.
