Arthur Maulet has been ruled out for Sunday’s game, marking a tough setback for the veteran nickel cornerback who had been eager to face his former team. Maulet was added to the injury report on Thursday with a calf issue and was seen wearing a walking boot in the locker room. Head Coach John Harbaugh stated he didn’t have any further updates on Maulet’s condition.
“We’ll just have to see where we go with that,” Harbaugh said.
It’s been a challenging season for Maulet. He impressed during summer practices as one of the Ravens’ top defensive players but was sidelined for the first seven games after suffering a knee injury in training camp that required arthroscopic surgery. Since his return, Maulet has played 32% of the team’s defensive snaps, bringing a physical presence and solid depth to the secondary.
With Maulet out, the Ravens may need to adjust their defensive strategy, potentially shifting Marlon Humphrey to the nickel role alongside Kyle Hamilton to cover the slot. Maulet’s absence leaves a hole in the defense, but the team is prepared to make the necessary changes to fill the void.
