Two Oklahoma Sooners Score Big with Senior Bowl Invitations

The Oklahoma Sooners continue to showcase their strong NFL pipeline, with linebacker Danny Stutsman and safety Billy Bowman earning invites to the prestigious Senior Bowl ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. Head coach Brent Venables announced the news during his Tuesday press conference, highlighting the accomplishment for the program. The Senior Bowl, held annually in January, serves as a major event for top NFL prospects, with over 500 alumni currently in the NFL, offering a platform for players to showcase their talents.

Stutsman and Bowman are both considered top-100 prospects for the 2025 NFL Draft, with Stutsman potentially being a first-round pick as the top linebacker. Stutsman, a traditional MIKE linebacker, is the leader of Oklahoma’s defense, known for his ability to control the field, defend against the run, and excel in modern defensive schemes that employ light boxes.

Bowman, often compared to Arizona Cardinals star Budda Baker, has been a standout again this season. Though his interception numbers are lower than last year, teams are actively avoiding him, yet he still leads the team in interceptions. Bowman’s rare skill set—his range, ball skills, and ability to cover in the slot—make him a highly valued prospect. Despite being undersized, he plays fearlessly against the run.

Looking ahead, more Oklahoma players could join Stutsman and Bowman in receiving invites to postseason events like the Senior Bowl and Shrine Bowl. Defensive end Ethan Downs is a likely candidate, as well as offensive tackle Michael Tarquin, cornerback Woodi Washington, and defensive ends Caiden Woullard and Trace Ford. These players will continue Oklahoma’s strong presence in the NFL Draft.
