The Detroit Lions made several roster updates on Saturday, placing rookie cornerback Ennis Rakestraw Jr. on injured reserve and activating cornerback Emmanuel Moseley. Rakestraw, who was sidelined due to a hamstring injury, was ruled out of Friday’s practice and Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts. Moseley, who has fully recovered from a pectoral tear, will make his 2024 Lions debut this weekend.
Moseley joined Detroit in the 2023 free agency period after spending five years with the San Francisco 49ers. The 28-year-old played one game for the Lions last season before suffering a second ACL injury in as many years. He and Amik Robertson were competing for a starting spot during training camp when Moseley tore his pectoral during joint practices with the New York Giants.
Moseley’s return is timely, as earlier on Saturday, the team confirmed that rookie cornerback Terrion Arnold would also miss the game against the Colts due to a hamstring injury.
Additionally, the Lions announced the elevation of linebacker David Long from the practice squad to the active/inactive list. The Lions will face the Colts at noon CT on Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium.
