The New England Patriots will gain additional support on both offense and defense for their upcoming game against the Miami Dolphins.
The team has promoted tight end Jack Westover and outside linebacker Keshawn Banks from the practice squad ahead of Sunday’s AFC East clash at Hard Rock Stadium.
Westover, 25, is set to make his NFL debut after joining the practice squad in early October. The 6-foot-2, 245-pound undrafted free agent had previously reached an agreement with the Seattle Seahawks in August but was waived and placed on injured reserve. A product of the University of Washington, Westover played 52 games, earning an All-Pac-12 honorable mention last season. Over his college career, he totaled 87 receptions for 849 yards, six touchdowns, and also scored as a rusher.
Banks, 24, was re-elevated after serving as a standard elevation against the Los Angeles Rams last week. His first appearance in 2024 included 18 snaps on special teams. A former Michigan Panthers player in the UFL, Banks entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Green Bay Packers in 2023. The 6-foot-3, 255-pound linebacker spent his rookie season on the practice squad and made his debut in last January’s NFC divisional round, playing two defensive snaps and nine special teams snaps.
Defensive tackle Jaquelin Roy has been ruled out for the game, while 10 players are listed as questionable, including interior offensive lineman Cole Strange, who will remain on the physically unable to perform list for Sunday’s game.
The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET in Miami Gardens.
