Eagles Top Starter Ruled Out of Season Due to Serious Injury

Brandon Graham expects to miss the remainder of the Philadelphia Eagles‘ season after suffering a torn triceps during their 37-20 victory over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night.

Graham had been managing tendinitis but realized something was wrong with his triceps when the pain lingered longer than usual after the game.

“If this is how I have to go out, I gave it my all,” Graham said.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Graham recorded two tackles and one sack, helping lead a defensive front that relentlessly pressured Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, resulting in five sacks. With 3 1/2 sacks on the season, this marks his 15th year with the Eagles. In March, Graham signed a one-year contract, marking what he referred to as his “farewell” season in Philadelphia.

Coach Nick Sirianni stated that he needed more information about Brandon Graham’s injury before confirming he would be out for the season. Sirianni described Graham as “one of my favorite guys I’ve ever been able to coach.”

“I’m not ready to discuss it yet,” Sirianni continued. “I’m holding out hope, and we’ll see.”

Graham has been a key figure for the Eagles since they selected him 13th overall in the 2010 draft. With 76 1/2 career sacks, he moved into third place in franchise history after his sack of Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford in the second quarter.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

His best season came in 2022 when he posted 11 sacks. Graham was also part of the Eagles’ Super Bowl-winning team following the 2017 season, where he forced a crucial fumble in the 41-33 victory over New England.

Running back Saquon Barkley praised Graham for helping him transition to the Eagles after spending six years with the NFC East rival New York Giants.

“The energy and passion he brings to this team and city, he represents what it means to be a Philadelphia Eagle,” Barkley said. “We all need to follow his example, but one thing we know about BG is he’ll come to work with a smile. On Sundays, when the team walks by him, he’s a leader, and we’re going to rally around him and support him.”
