Breaking News: Cardiff to sign manager as Tan confirmed another…

Tonight’s Cardiff City news as Tan forced to sack another manager and young Bluebirds thrash Swansea City

Vincent Tan has had to sack another manager after KV Kortrijk’s poor start to the campaign has led to Glen De Boeck getting the chop.

Kortrijk are the bottom-placed club in the Jupiler Pro League and have already sacked one manager this season, Ed Still. But De Boeck becomes the second KVK boss to leave within the first half of the season following a dismal start for Tan’s side.

“KVK today terminated its collaboration with head coach Glen De Boeck,” they wrote in a statement. “The club is working on a successor as quickly as possible. While waiting for a new head coach, Joseph Akpala will take over the duties of T1 and prepare the coming matches.”

Cardiff’s Sheyi Ojo and Isaak Davies are both on loan at the Flemish club, but will be playing under another new coach in the coming days. De Boeck had just nine games in charge.

Cardiff beat Swans u21s

Cardiff City under-21s thrashed their south Wales counterparts 3-0 in yesterday’s mini derby.

Despite an even game on the pitch, if not on the scoreline, Cardiff were clinical with their chances and scored three cracking goals through James Crole, Cameron Antwi and Joel Colwill.

Crole finished off a lovely move with a clinical finish in the box before Antwi pinged a stunning free-kick in off the crossbar.

Colwill, who appears to be going from strength to strength, rounded off the scoring with a sensational strike from the edge of the box which was rifled into the top corner of the net.

“First and foremost is the result,” manager Darren Purse said. “I’m usually quite big on the result not being the be-all-and-end-all, but when it’s the South Wales derby it has to be all about the result.

“There was a performance in there from all of the boys; in the first half in possession there were some really good bits. Backs to the wall stuff in the start of the second half, they had to put their bodies on the line, had to win their headers and get their blocks in, everything that they didn’t do last week at Charlton.

“I’m delighted with the clean sheet and delighted with the three goals, if you look at all three they’re really well-taken goals as well, so fair play to the boys for that. It’s just nice to see a little bit of camaraderie between the group.”
