On December 5, Chicago Bears wide receiver D.J. Moore and running back D’Andre Swift missed practice for the second consecutive day due to quad injuries. While Moore and Swift were sidelined, wide receiver Keenan Allen returned to full participation after sitting out Wednesday’s session with an ankle injury.
The Bears (4-8) are currently on a six-game losing streak ahead of their Sunday matchup against the San Francisco 49ers (5-7) in Santa Clara, California.
Moore leads the team with 62 catches and 663 receiving yards, tied with Allen for the team lead in receiving touchdowns with five. Swift leads the Bears in both carries (179) and rushing yards (704), and his five rushing touchdowns are just one behind Roschon Johnson, who also missed practice on Thursday due to a concussion.
If both Swift and Johnson are unable to play against the 49ers, Travis Homer would be expected to take on a larger role, with three carries for 16 yards this season.
Veteran tight end Marcedes Lewis (rest), defensive back Elijah Hicks (ankle), and offensive lineman Ryan Bates (concussion) also missed practice for the second straight day. Offensive lineman Darnell Wright (knee) improved from limited participation to full participation on Thursday.
