The Milwaukee Brewers are nearing a trade that will send All-Star closer Devin Williams to the New York Yankees, reports ESPN’s baseball insider Jeff Passan. Passan shared the news in a tweet on Tuesday.
Devin Williams, drafted by the Brewers in the second round of the 2013 Draft, has since earned two National League Reliever of the Year awards and been selected to two All-Star teams.
In return for the All-Star closer, reports suggest the Brewers will acquire starting pitcher Nestor Cortes and infielder Caleb Durbin in the trade.
